Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART)

Mansoor Khan, MD, MHA, is the National Senior Vice President of the ENVOY Travel Team at Envision. He is board-certified in emergency medicine and internal medicine, and before joining ENVOY, he was chair of various emergency departments in the New York City areas.

Dr. Khan is a fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and a member of the American College of Emergency Medicine and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Khan earned his undergraduate degree from the City College of New York’s Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education and his medical degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed his combined emergency medicine/internal medicine residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was chief resident. Dr. Khan also holds a master's degree in healthcare management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives in New Jersey with his wife and four children.

Stephen Mitchell, DO, is an Envision ENVOY Regional Medical Director. He has served as an emergency physician at several Florida hospitals, including in Brooksville, Spring Hill and Oakhill.

Dr. Mitchell enlisted in the U.S. Air Force (USAF) when he was 16 and went on active duty when he was 17 after receiving basic training at Lackland Air Force Base and combat training Camp Bullis in Texas. He was discharged in 1987 but joined the USAF Reserves on September 9, 2001 – two days before the terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, DC. Dr. Mitchell was then deployed with the 442 Fighter Wing out of Missouri as a flight surgeon and as chief of aerospace medicine.

After his active duty military service, and before medical school, Dr. Mitchell worked as a deputy sheriff for 10 years while he pursued studies in criminal justice. After earning an associate’s degree in that field, he earned a bachelor’s degree in natural science and chemistry from the University of Southern Florida. Dr. Mitchell completed medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001 and his residency in emergency medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Kevin McGann, DO, is ENVOY Regional Medical Director at Envision. He began working as an emergency medicine attending physician in 2003 at hospitals in southern New Jersey and transitioned to a full-time float physician in 2004. Since then, Dr. McGann has earned a total of 32 state medical licenses and credentials and has worked at dozens of facilities across the United States.

In January 2017, Dr. McGann became Regional Medical Director of the EmBassador program, which helped place emergency medicine physicians in places where there was dire need.

Before becoming interested in medicine, Dr. McGann studied aerospace engineering as an undergraduate at 16 years old and planned to first become a fighter pilot in the Air Force. He later received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Julio Sanchez, MD, has been in private practice and served as a medical director, and even was part of a fleet of international physicians who worked on a cruise ship liner, providing acute and emergency care for travelers and crew members traveling around the world.

Since 2007, Dr. Sanchez has been providing emergency medicine services in hospitals across the United States. He also has been deployed for multiple international medical missions, including in Colombia, Honduras and the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Sanchez earned his medical degree from Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. He completed a surgical residency in his home country and also completed a one-year transitional internship at St. Vincent/St. Charles Mercy Hospitals in Toledo, Ohio. He resides in Tampa, Florida, with his wife and two children, one of whom is a medical student.

Joel Munoz Pagan, MD, joined Envision’s ENVOY Travel Team in 2018, which has allowed him to provide care in emergency medicine in a variety of settings from rural areas of the United States to urban trauma centers.

Dr. Munoz Pagan was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and was raised in Juana Diaz. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez and a medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences campus in San Juan. He completed an emergency medicine residency at St. Luke Hospital in Ponce Puerto Rico.

Angenette Rashad, MD, is an emergency medicine specialist in Brooksville, Florida. She is affiliated with several hospitals, including Medical Center Of Trinity and Oviedo Medical Center, and cooperates with doctors and specialists in many medical groups, including Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center, Torbert Emergency Physicians, and Jax Emergency Physicians.

Dr. Rashad has worked with Envision since 2018. She helped open the first COVID-19 acute care center in McAllen, Texas, and has helped establish medical shelters in San Antonio, Texas.

Raised in Detroit, Dr. Rashad became an emergency medicine physician to help her community and to provide better access to healthcare. She earned an undergraduate degree from University of Michigan and a medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Rashad completed an emergency medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She and her husband, Fareed, have four children and a granddaughter.

Umer Ahmed, MD, serves as Regional Medical Director for Envision’s Gulf Coast Division. He is a family physician in Houston, Texas, where he is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including St. Joseph Medical Center, Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Memorial Hermann Northeast, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, University of Texas Medical Branch, Houston Northwest Medical Center, Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center, and West Houston.

Born in Illinois and raised in Florida, Dr. Ahmed earned an undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida and a medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed a residency in family medicine at Duke University. Dr. Ahmed also has an MBA from Columbia University. He and his wife have four children.

Shawna Gelormino, DO, has worked at The Washington Health System near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, since 2013. As Regional Recruitment Champion and Physician Recruitment Director with Envision, Dr. Gelormino dedicates her time to helping residents find placement after graduation.

Since 2018, Dr. Gelormino has provided her expertise in emergency medicine as a member of Envision’s ENVOY Travel Team.

A native of Johnston, Pennsylvania, Dr. Gelormino earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an emergency medicine residency at University Hospitals, Case Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University where she served as an administrative chief resident in her final year of training. She resides in western Pennsylvania with her husband and their multiple pets.

Patrick Nichols, DO, is an emergency medicine physician in Alexandria, Louisiana, where he is affiliated with multiple hospitals, including CHRISTUS Dubuis Hospital, CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital and Terrebonne General Medical Center.

A committed volunteer, Dr. Nichols has extensive experience providing disaster response. Most recently, he was onsite physician during Hurricanes Delta and Zeta in Louisiana and site medical director in Gonzales, Louisiana, during Hurricane Laura. He volunteered with Americorps during multiple disasters, including Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and Hurricane Harvey in 2018.

Dr. Nichols earned his medical degree from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

A seasoned emergency medicine physician, Nicholas Kramer, MD, has worked in more than 15 facilities across several states. He is passionate about community service and has provided healthcare after multiple natural disasters. Dr. Kramer also spent several months volunteering in Nepal where he previously worked as the director of a free community medical clinic.

A native of Seattle, Dr. Kramer earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington. After graduating at the top of his class from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Kramer completed his residency at the University of Central Florida Emergency Medicine program in Orlando where he was chief resident. He currently lives with his wife in Denver.

Bryan Georgiana, PA-C, has spent his entire career in the practice of emergency medicine, first at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey, and then at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He is now at Community Medical Center in Toms River, New Jersey.

Georgiana became part of Envision’s ENVOY Travel Team in 2016. During COVID-19, he has practiced in the intensive care units of several medical centers.

Georgiana earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Seton Hall University. He holds a National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Certificate of Added Qualification in Emergency Medicine. He lives with his wife and dog, Munchie, in Brick, New Jersey.

Kathleen Miller, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner with Envision’s ENVOY Travel Team, specializing in emergency medicine. Previously, she worked as lead APP while at Coshocton Memorial Hospital in Coshocton, Ohio, and Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, Ohio. She also has served as Director of Emergency Service at Clinton.

Miller earned her undergraduate degree from Ohio University. Before earning a master’s degree, she worked for many years as an RN. Miller is pursuing a post-master’s degree in acute care and currently lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband and six children.

Roman Sereda, PA, completed an advanced practice provider fellowship in emergency medicine in 2015 and has practiced in several emergency departments in the Tampa Bay, Florida, area since then.

Sereda is interested in disaster relief, including team management, and also teaches future physician assistants. He holds several Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) certifications and, as part of a doctoral program, has completed courses in disaster management. In 2020, he was deployed to McAllen and San Antonio, Texas, to help with hurricane and COVID-19 relief efforts.

Sereda immigrated to the United States as a professional swimmer. He currently lives in Florida with his wife, who is a nurse, and three daughters.
