PLANTATION, Fla. – Keesha Duncan, DNP, APN, and Caroline Hodge, PA-C, have been honored with Envision Physician Services’ 2018 Platinum Award. During its annual leadership conference, Envision Physician Services, a leading multispecialty physician group and healthcare service team, presents the award to clinicians for their leadership in enhancing the delivery of patient care.
“The Platinum Award honors our advanced practice providers for their exceptional clinical care and leadership as well as their commitment to operational excellence,” said Rebecca Parker, M.D., FACEP, Chief Medical Affairs Officer. “Keesha and Caroline are exemplary leaders who go above and beyond every day to put patients first and enhance the quality of care in their fields of medicine. It is an honor to recognize them with this award. We look forward to their continued growth and success.”
Duncan is a certified registered nurse anesthetist practicing at Jersey City Medical Center. Her team members revere her for her commitment to advancing best practices and say she has been instrumental in implementing enhanced recovery after surgery protocols. Duncan has given lectures on several topics, including sedation and monitoring, preoperative protocols and transformational leadership, and she has published scholarly work on Fentanyl in cancer patients. Hodge is a certified physician assistant practicing emergency medicine at Newton Medical Center. She is dedicated to enhancing the quality of care and helping advanced practice providers (APP) practice at the top of their license. Hodge developed a training program for emergency medical technicians and other clinicians to improve their skills in airway and ultrasound procedures – two critical areas of emergency care. The course fosters a team-based approach by combining the skills and experience of hospitalists, emergency medicine physicians and APPs. Watch the Platinum Award Video on Hodge.
Duncan and Hodge were presented with the awards during the Envision Physician Services 2018 Annual Leadership Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, in November. The award recipients were nominated by their Envision Physician Services peers and selected by executive leadership through a voting process. In addition to recognizing clinicians and medical professionals for leadership in supporting and enhancing the delivery of care with the Platinum Award, Envision Physician Services also honors leading physicians in anesthesia, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, women’s and children’s services, radiology and surgery.
