FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Envision Physician Services announced today that Tony Andrulonis, M.D., FACEP, MBA., has been appointed President of Emergency Medicine.

“We are very pleased to have Dr. Andrulonis leading our emergency medicine team,” said Doug Smith, M.D., FACEP., Chief Clinical Officer of Emergency Services and Hospital Medicine for Envision Physician Services. “He has extensive experience in emergency medicine and operations management. Under his leadership, I’m confident we can build a national platform for emergency medicine best practices that will engage and empower local physicians to provide the highest quality care for their patients.”
 
In his new role, Dr. Andrulonis oversees Envision’s emergency medicine practices and is responsible for creating a platform to support local providers. Dr. Andrulonis will leverage the organization’s national scale and seasoned leadership team to build tools and best practices in all areas, from utilizing data analytics to driving efficiency.
 
Dr. Andrulonis has more than a decade of experience leading acute care specialties on both a regional and national level. He most recently served as Executive Vice President of the Southeast Operating Unit for Envision Physician Services. Prior to that, he held a number of leadership roles with Sheridan Healthcare, including Senior Vice President of Emergency Services for five years. He also served as Chief of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida.
 
Dr. Andrulonis was a member of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Florida Task Force 2 and Pennsylvania Task Force 1. As a member, he was deployed to the 9/11 disaster in New York and Hurricane Katrina. In 2008, he was named one of the American College of Emergency Physician’s (ACEP) Heroes of Emergency Medicine.
 
He earned his medical degree from University of Pittsburg followed by a four-year residency in emergency medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He also earned his master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
