St. Joseph's Hospital is a member of the Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) and boasts a beautiful, new, state-of-the-art Emergency Department that was completed in January 2011. The Emergency Service Area at HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital is staffed 24 hours a day with board-certified emergency room physicians and nurses who are specifically trained to care for patients with a variety of medical, surgical, and trauma-related emergencies. Our skilled team treats an estimated 14,000 patients annually.
Our partnership with Chippewa Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine enables us to provide you with 24/7 expert care for orthopedic injuries right here in our emergency room.
Additionally, our nursing staff is credentialed with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). They are supported by a full complement of ancillary services, including radiology, imaging and lab services, biohazard and disaster preparedness, and Advanced Life Support ground and air medical service transport.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has designated HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital as a Level III Trauma Care Facility, making us the only state-designated Level III Trauma Center in Chippewa
